Dear Friend:
My ¢.02: I would charge a flat hourly rate as opposed to a per call charge. I'm assuming you'll be making yourself available for X hours a day and as such, you're not going to be able to commit yourself to do other things during this time (i.e. another job). I don't know what country you're in but I would suggest an hourly rate around $15USD/hr depending on your location in the country. The employer you're working for will not have to pay for space in a call center and all overhead expenses affiliated with that, so you can mark up your price since that cost now falls onto you. If you're not being reimbursed for your computer and dedicated (I assume) phone line, you could probably go even higher. I have no research to support this fee, just my opinion. (There is an airline (JetBlue) that hires ONLY at-home reservations agents....you may be able to find out what they pay their agents by looking on their website?) |
