Salary increase
In my call centre their has been the recent call for increase of salaries for the agents as this is believed could serve as a motivation tool on the perfoprmance of the agents.
Could salaries only serve as an avenue to improving the performance of agents?if NO,what other measures could be demanded by agents to have an improved system within the call centre so that the performance level may go above the expected level. |

I have found that salary increases, in any department I've supervised, doesn't serve as a long term motivation. It seems to in the short term, but for long term motivation, incentive (bonus) plans, spot rewards (gift certificates, time off, $$), and job satisfaction seem to be better motivators.

Salary Increase
Hi,
Rilo2003 seems to have covered it all, one addition try and have a Promote From Within (PFW) scheme, where in you fill vaccancies from within i.e. Promotions, Lateral transfers, Job Rotation. Offcourse, in case the skill sets are not available within, then we would hire externally. This proved to be a real good motivator in one of the centers i worked for. Hope this helps.
