feels like a pay cut
I have been with a large utility company for 22 years. I am a call center rep. EVERY year we get large bonus based on company success and performance goals. One of the goals is call center stats, which I am at the top. I work hard every year so I can get my bonus every year. When the supervisors go over our stats, the bonus is the focal point. At my salary I normally get $4000.00 year in this bonus. In all the 22 years, I have always got my bonus, every employee in the every dept gets it, unless employee's performance is unsatisfactory for that year.
It has now been confirmed by a supervisors, that the company will not give bonuses this year, even though we have met our goals but supposedly weather not hot enough for revenue on the electric side. I have looked at the company's balance sheet and the company is making money (not as much as last year, but still making a profit). The CEO however, last year got a 7,000.000 bonus as well as over 150% pay raise for last year. I just feel like since managers drive us in the call center to get that bonus and now we are not, I almost dont feel like trying that hard anymore, why worry about service level, callwork, if you not going to get a bonus for it anymore. I bet the CEO will get his bonus though.
Every year, the call center managers, drive us, "service level, service level, keep that sevice level low, keep that call work low etc, so we and they can get that bonus every year. I feel I have worked hard for nothing, actually feel like I'm getting a paycut and feel the like the employee that doesn't deserve the bonus. There are a few employees that don't get their bonuses because their performance -----. Also the company made you think you were getting your bonus this year, but towards Christmas is when it was made official not getting it. Are they going to "drive us again, making us think we going to get a bonus next year, then not get it afterall? It's very depressing and many morales are down and alot of people won't really feel like putting in a 100 percent anymore. Remember this is a very big company. What's the excuse next year?
