Question about Pay and Training
We have a shift differential of 50 cents an hour with our agents. Those that receive the additional monies work 10 hour days 4 days a week.
It has been my companies practice to pay the differential while the agent is in training. This training last for 2.5 months but the hours of training are 8-5. In fact there are other agents in the exact same training that do not receive the pay differential due to the fact that they work 8 hour days 5 days a week.
What has been your companies practice? Do you pay the differential only once the person has completed the training and actually works the hours that require the differential? Or do you just bring the person in at the higher rate, even if they are training during the exact same hours that others (who do not receive the differential) are in training?
