Absentessism

A balance of Positive and Negative Motivation is what I would want to use to combat Absenteeism. We must understand that a person would be absenting himself/herself from his/her duties if he feels there is something more important for him to cater to at that time.
Now providing -ve motivating factors for ppl absenting and +ve motivating factors for thos who are not, we could be able to set up a base level of committment in at least 50 - 70% of those 10% employees who are absenting themselves. Ideally, the rest 30% should follow.
Also associating incentives with appropriate attendence on the floor is a good way to make sure everyone comes in, or at least calls in to get a leave when they can not.
