Improving Morale
Hi all, this is my first post to this forum. I am a newly promoted Performance Manager for a call center and morale appears to be at an all time low. It's to the point where even I don't want to show up. We hold contests, offer incentives to perform better, as well as hold cookouts. I don't expect us to please everyone, that's impossible. But I would like to see an in morale among the employees, especially staff members. What other proven methods have you all implemented to make your work place a fun environment? All ideas are welcome.

Improving Morale
Hi,
It sounds like your operation have deeper issues that you need to understand and resolve before you can implement fun employee activities to improve the morale of the workplace. If employees are not happy and you have a stressful workplace, you will need to allow the employees to speak out regarding the issues that are creating the stress for the employees. If your management team is skillful with communicating with their employees, then they should be able to tell you what are the issues that are causing the stress for your operation. The bottom line here is that you will need talk to the employees to find the issues and make a sincere effort to resolve the issues or communicate openly the steps that you are taking to get the issues resolve (or not). Once this is done properly, you should see an improve in morale in your operation. This will be the time when the fun employee activities will be more effective for you. Good luck |
