Call recording and distribution
I was recently hired as an account manager in the USA and am managing a Japanese client with a call center requirement that we fulfill.
This client requested that we record calls without notifying the callers and that we send the client all recorded calls for their reference. I know that this would be illegal. Does anyone have any suggestions for resources I could reference to legally address this issue? I would really appreciate any suggestions. - Kate |

Find strong arguments for your refuse
Hello Kate,
if the call center is based in the USA it must function under the US laws. You should look for the laws that help you explain your client why isn't possible to comply with his request. Ask for advice if you have some lawyer friends ... they will help you. If you can't do that, look it up yourself. Anyway, document yourself very well and be prepared to offer additional solving to their request. Try to understand what are their expectancies, why do they need it ALL recorded ... and without notifying the callers? hope this helps ... |
