Homebased Call Agent

I am getting ready to start taking inbound calls through a homebased virtual contact center and want to have a dedicated computer just for that. Does anyone have any recommendations on what type of specs are needed for a call center machine? I don't want to go buy a brand new machine so I am hoping that a used one will work just fine, with a couple upgrades. And can anyone recommend a good headset?

Thanks

I can at least recommend a great headset. Look at www.vxicorp.com As far as the pc side. You will want to look for current technology in a used computer. I wouldn't purchase anything older than say, 2 years.

Happy Hunting

For home based outbound campaigns, you'd need portal based predictive dialers and that your home based agents should at least have 256kbps of Broadband connection. Either they use softphones or IP phones.

Here's a good product www.aheeva.com

We have many home based agents virtual contact centeres installs here and it works well and on a a good voice quality using G.729 codec compression.

The server box hosting the solution will be hosted in your office and you should have enough bandwidth based on the number of home based agents accessing your server.
