Motivations

howdy people...

Im an HR assistant on one of the call center here in manila, and I want to ask for some opinion and also some suggestions on how we can motivate the agents to work and do well (outbound agents)... seems they are bored or something (I'm not into operations, but the responsible persons seem not to care,) also do you have examples of incentives...

hope you can help me with this one... thanks

mikey

Working on Recognition/Motivation

I was hoping to see a post about motivation. I work at an inbound sales center in Operations. I've been working on the recognition program since last summer. One of the things I came up with was taking pictures of people that reach the top in metrics. I also take pictures of food days, events and whatever happens so I can get more than just the top performers recognized. I put these pictures into PowerPoint and email them to the reps on the floor. Yet I need more ideas on how to reach to the middle core of reps that don't 'make the news'.

Hi Mikey and SMeadow...

Motivation is key in call centres to exceed your desired targets. By this I mean that you need your agents to understand why it is they go to work everyday. It is my belief that you should not motivate agents to do their job - the salary that you pay takes care of that. The incentive programme or motivation should be there to offer agents an opportunity to earn more (either cash or recognition) and for your business to exceed targets.

Please also bear in mind that Inbound Sales is very different to Outbound Sales. I have managed both and had to implement different incentive programmes in each typ of sales environment.

There are simple things that can be done, and it would probably be easier to split the motivation into two categories: Reward and Recognition

It is a tad difficult to get into detail in this format, but if you send an e-mail to me I will be glad to share the information I have with you.

Motivation in outbound...?

....Just show me the money!
I definitely agree with ned2006 post. The outbound representantive have a very different profile of the inbound.

You should consider 3 aspects to motivate your outbound reps:

Recognition
Respectfull environment
Monetary Rewards.

Don´t look more.

Regards,
