Attrition? Help?

I am a regularly employed as a BPO agent for a big US Company. My work consisted of data entry productivity and accuracy. But recently, I was removed from my post and my supervisors cwere not able to defend me and advised that this happened due to my "below-client-expectations" performance. The service level agreement set by client to our BPO is 98%. and I usually get over 99% accuracy, team effort shows that error is 0.03% which is highly appreciated. But recently I got 7 errors out of the 11 the team got, so that was the time I was relieved, and there was not even a grace period for me to find a transfer work. My name was regularly included in the daily error log. I did try my best to avoid recurrence by staying late and reviewing. My co-agent gets 100% productivity and 0% error rate. The comparison between us has not been avoided. Up to this time, I am still a "float" employee, still waiting for internal trasfers and applications to the other account where I am qualified. I may now be blacklisted to this big account of but not for other accounts besides the previous one. I believed I have not done any company violation so they can't terminate me. Please advise me what to do: Do my supervisors have the responsibility to find another post for me? How much time (months) will I allow for myself to stay and wait for my supervisors to find a new account with this company that I once planned to stay or grow old in? What can I do more on my part? What chances do I have to take? I am already 29 years old married and I live in a country where Equal Opportunity Employer Rule doesn't apply. Kindly enlighten me on my situation. Thanks.

It sounds like you are at a cross road in your career. A difficult time for sure, and let’s explore this situation and see if we can put it in perspective. First of all, I’m not so sure about your statement “I have not done any company violation so they can't terminate me.” Generally, employers have the right to terminate based on performance standards. Labor laws vary by state, and employment category (Temp, contractor, part or full time….) however, you didn’t mention anything about corrective action the company has documented in order to correct the behavior?

Since you were willing to stay late and attempt to correct the problem shows a behavior that separates you from a lot of other employees. And that you are still employed would lead me to guess that if the company did not think you were a valuable employee you would already be terminated.

Take this as a positive sign and ask your self the following question:

Are you in a company you really want to be in? If yes, I would encourage you to take every opportunity to let your management team know how committed you are and constantly (even daily) ask “How can I help” and “ What do you need me to do”?

You are responsible for your own success, and while your supervisors might assist they are probably not obligated to do so. Even if they were you are still taking a larger risk by not owning the issue. The timing is a question only you can answer. When you are provided the opportunity, you need to prove that the confidence the company showed in you was worth it.

On the reverse side is the question of if you are not fully committed to the organization and the changes necessary to be successful; I’d coach you to pursue employment outside of the organization.

Like I stated at the beginning of the post, this is a cross road in your career. I doubt that you’d post your question to this group if you were not sincerely interested in being successful at your company. Based on what you written it is my sense that you do have an opportunity to succeed within the organization (possibly in a new function) if you chose, and fully commit to being successful in the role. Good luck!
