Humor in call center training

The other day my team lead brought in some cartoons from www.callcentercomics.com and put them on his cubicle. Usually, I'm not much of a cartoon person, but the humor resonated with me and my peers to the point that we visited the site and recommended that the cartoons be used in our training manuals.

As far as we can tell , the training remains as dull as ever, but the cartoons have really helped bring the point home with the reps. It's amazing how a little humor can make training so much more effective.

Does anyone know where else we can direct our managers to gather other industry related humor?

Humor in a training environment is a great way to break the ice or to re-focus a group.

I would visit dilbert.com, which is great to put things into perspective and do a search on callcenter stories on live.com for some nice related input.
Another great site for technical staff, supporting people with IT issues, would be Chronicles of George (www.chroniclesofgeorge.nanc.com) which is also helpful to make agents understand the importance of correct call logs.

Hmmm.... I wrote this yesterday as well, but somehow it didn't get posted :)

Okay...

I would recommend the following sites:

1. http://www.dilbert.com
Because Dilbert is a great source for a relief on general company madness.

2. http://chroniclesofgeorge.nanc.com
A great resource to explain why correct logging is so important.

There used to be a call center comic called Smooth Operators: but sadly, the site is gone, and the strips with it.

There's another good one: the strips are in Tagalog, but there are English translations. It can be found at http://callworkcomics.blogspot.com/ .
