I'm back after 1 year of staying at home

On Feb 4 I will be back in the call center world, after a year of staying at home with the kids. I was a supervisor for 2months prior to that I was an agent for 1 year. As much as I would like to apply for the TL post of course there has been a lot of changes in the industry and I have a lot of competitors who are more competent than I am. I guess... I was taken in as an agent and they told me that I would be one of the pioneers of the account that they have.. They have several accounts and they are expanding.. I hope that I could make my mark do you have any advice so that I could overcome office politics and be recognized, because I know that I'll be a stellar agent and can bid for the TL post if they would base it on performance alone.. help please??
