Outsourcing our telemarketing Campaigns to India

Hi,
We are seriously considering having our telemarketing campaigns conducted from 75-100 seat call centers in India/Phillipines.

Would appreciate expert comments on
a) feasibility of the same ( I know of the labour arbitrage)
b) call centers having the ability to conduct telemarketing in such countries
c) ability to ramp up 100% every quarter.
d) any other relevant advice.

The Philippines -- It really works !

I am the VP ops of a 75-100 seat call center in Manila, the Philippines. We have been operating in Manila, the Philippinesm for a year and a half and have had great success, frequently outperforming US call centers doing the same work.

Our agents are all college graduates, and think of their jobs as entry-level professional positions, not temp jobs as many US call center workers do.

You get a better agent for a lower price here than in the US. "Soft selling" applications such as market research, cross-selling into established accounts, lead generation and qualification are slam dunks. Philippinos have a natural warmth that really plays well with American audiences.

We also do "hard sales," for example new client acquisition for wireless phone providers and credit card merchant services. Here the work ethic and commitment are the key differentiators.

Hi ,

Since you are already aware of the manpower costs in India, i shall take it further from there, i will come straight to the point :

1) The agent quality in India is extremely good, they speak clear and fluent english.
2) There are already 100's of call centers in India doing telemarketing (outbound campaigns)
3) Ramp up is not a problem at all coz there is enough manpower available and the infrastructure is not a problem at all.
4) I personally would say only one thing, if the leads are good and the required SPH is a realistic one, and the campaign is a good one...the right place for you to make your money is India by way of lesser costs in doing the same work and the same level of quality or better.

I have personally been all over India setting up call centers, taking them LIVE (since i am part of an organisation, which is into providing end to end consulting to people wanting to venture into the IT enabled services arena), and know a lot of people in the Call center arena in India, the industry (call center) looks very promising in India.

One more reason being is that people here in India take this line as a career, so there is a lot of dedicated/focussed manpower.
