Call center setup in India (Mumbai prefrebly)

Hi,

We are investigating the option of setting up a small 5-10 seater call center in India to support some of the services provided by our company.

Could anyone in the group help-out or throw some lights on the following

1. Legal process for setting up a call center in Mumbai, India
2. Technical requirements for setting up a call center like the technology, hardware, software , infrastructure needs etc.
3. Total cost that would be involved in setting up a center
4. Any consultants\consulting agencies which can help out with the entire process right from beginning to end.

Thanks,
Chintan

Setting up a new call center in India is not difficult from a technology perspective, but can be time consuming logistically with regard to real estate, utilities, etc. if you are not already doing business in India.

I know that you can outsource those calls for approximately US$25,000 per agent per year, assuming a general customer service skill set requirement for the agents and could implement a new program within 60-90 days. If you are going to try to implement this yourself, I would use these figures as a comparison point against your internal cost numbers. Some outsourcers will charge a little more, some a little less. This is a good budgetary number though.
