India

What is the pulse in India these days with war being so close? Are clients getting worried? Or is it business as usual?

Hi Darren,

I am not from India nor do I live there; however, living in Dubai, I am closer in proximity and we deal with a couple of Indian firms.

This part of the world is more or less used to such situations and businesses are well-equipped to face wars next door.

According to our Indian business partners, it is business-as-usual. The worry is more related to the US economy, given the large number of Indians in the IT sector that are contracted to work on projects in the US.

So you can say, the pulse is consistent, although just slightly a little more rapid.

India is doing fine

Darren, Hi!

India is doing just fine, war or no. We Indians are looking forward to more business coming our way, so if you know of any, please do write to me at sheilamathews@vsnl.net. I have a couple of call centers coming up in a big way, looking for business and I am a middleman looking to bring clients and vendors together. Can you help?

Thanks and regards
Sheila

Well, I am from India but immigrated to Toronto, Canada 2 yrs back. Now, I am working in a call center. I strongly feel that this time, the war-like situation in the Indian Sub-continent is very different from any previous situation. India and Pakistan mean business this time round! O Yes! And we all, especially the businesses, are in for a very rough time and we will know it in a couple of weeks if not days.

India

Hi there,
I am working as well in Dubai and we have a lot to do with India and Pakistan. The call center market there got a big boost and we do feel a positive effect from the Afghanistan intervention as the US poured money into Pakistan.
Now with the new upcoming conflict between India and Pakistan we have to wait till the situation calmed down.

Safe and sound

Hi Darren,

Maybe I'm a bit late in responding to your query, but I'm not complaining.
Its been almost 2 months and ther are no traces of war, so things are quiet on that front and I dont at all believe that there would be war at all.
As Ruba said, its the US economy that worries us most.
So it is business as usual, and if u've got any business to do in the call center area, I'm all ears.

Your question looks to me like there's more to come and you were just testing the initial waters.

Hi,

I run a call center in Manila, the Philippines, quite a way from India. I am an American who moved here about one year ago.

India has its problems, as does the Philippines, as does the US, as do most countries in the world.

I highly doubt that nuclear war will break out in India, in fact things are cooling quite quickly. Its scary for Americans to think about far off places like India or the Philippines. All you see is CNN, and they show the absolute worst scenes from the country - thats how they generate revenue.

The Philippines and India are really in no more trouble than the US or the rest of the world. The first step in fighting terrorism is doing business as usual. I would suggest that you continue your due dilligence by getting out to these countries and seeing for yourself.

Please also consider the Philippines. You can check our website out at www.ambergrissolutions.com

Thanks,

TL
