Weatherford, OK wants a call center.
Formerly a Call Center Manager, now I am the Economic Development Director for a City of 10,000 home of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. We have the perfect situation for a Call Center;
+ wonderful workforce large enough for up to about 300 seats - pent-up need for secondary income for spouses + training available + no call center competitors to steal away employees + South Western Bell, state of the art, digital switch with redundant fiber optic + a downsized former 3M manufacturing facility - excellent engineers available + 11.9% of our workforce is underemployed - would change jobs for an $8 - $10 an hour job ¡V http://www.swosu.edu/depts/bdc/miscellaneous/labor.PDF + www.weatherford-ok.org Finally my question; how or to whom do I get the word out that we want a call center?

have you composed a letter for all fortune 500 companies? i have to warn you that your hourly rate of $8 to $10 is too high, most major players in the call center industry are leaving the USA to do business in Asia ( Food for thought - India and the Philippines where labor is cheaper and all agents have a 4 year degree).
