Creating a New Call Center

I have been asked to look into developing a new call center for a possible 400,000 product users. I am very familiar with IT help desk operations but would like some help with forecasting # of operators and possible call volume. I am also interested in touring a comparable size call center in Chicago. any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

My company, an outsource agency, has assisted several companies that have launched services/products. I would be glad to provide estimates (staffing/volumes) based on your application. Feel free to contact me to discuss.

Setting Up a call center the right way

JStrand - you have a big challenge ahead of you. It might benefit you to tour some existing large call center operations to get a feel for what you are getting yourself into. As we have 40 centers worldwide, I would be happy to show you around. Drop me an email.

JStrand,

Are you looking to be 24/7? Only open during "normal" business hours? What exactly are you supporting? What are your expected service levels going to be?

Lot's of things need to be considered here. I'm in Chicago too. I'm not a sales person, just some one that has quite a bit of experience managing and building a call center. Send me an e-mail if I can help with anything.

creating a new call center

If you are still in need of assistance with starting up a call center, please feel free to contact me. I have experience in starting a call center from the ground up and also have contacts to outsource the call center to india. American express, ge capital and citibank have already started this venture. Cost is considerably less and you have a high quality work force.

Creating a New Call Center

At the risk of being redundant, I am affiliated with an offshore contact center, but we are based in the beautiful and stable Caribbean.

Our company offers a full or ala carte solution, including

Outsourcing the contact center and / or

Consulting on how to run your call center if you have decided to build and run it yourself and / or

CSR communication and soft skill training.

Best Regards

Alan
