Real Time LogIn/Out vs Swipe Method

I work for a large organization and I am looking for information in reagrds to the method of time keeping that other organizations are using. We are looking at the possibly of going to "real-time" log in/outs vs the swipe method at a time clock. Does any one have any expereince in doing this process or know the Pro's and Con's assoicated with this change. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank for all of your help.

Real Time LogIn/Out vs Swipe Method

We use both systems in our call center. First there's the "swipe method" which is directly linked to our shcedule/pay system. It seemed to work fine but we found out that some employees would punch in at the right time, but were only at their workstation 5, 10 or 15 minutes later.

So what we do now is go over the login/out report of their phones, and adjust the pay/attendence record accordingly. We use CMS (Lucent CentreVu Supervisor) software to get the real time login/out, and then we have to manually correct the hours in our pay system.
