Attrition for complaint handling

Can anyone give an indication of the level of staff attrition (turnover) to expect from an inbound customer complaints line?

I used to work in complaint center in the cruise business. Typical turnover was approx. 100% every 6-8 months. I lasted 6 months. Something to consider....money talks, raise your hourly rate and make it worthwhile for your employees. Constantly praise them, since all they'll hear on the phone will be complaint, complaint complaint.

What type of motivation was used and what was effective?
