Tom,

While home based agents is an affordable option for US based call centers, it has many pitfalls that any well versed call center guru will tell you. I have been in this industry over 20 years, and have run several home based operations. If you looking for price and quality I would highly recommend an offshore solution. My company, Square One Associates, has used home based agents for several years successfully. We prefer to call ourselves inside sales professionals as opposed to "agents"
We have done work for Fortune 500 companies with regards to lead generation, lead qualification, and product launching.
The key to home based success is in hiring quality, mature people and paying them a competitive salary. Micro managing isn't necessary if the proper tools are put in place.
