Traffic Engineering Ratios for R,P and S call arrival patterns.

Does anyone out there have the ratios for Random, peak and smooth call arrival? Or a copy of the "Traffic Engineering Table" created my J. Jewett and associate authors. I would appreciate your respond.

Erlang Probability Calculations

Robert,

Call arrival depends specific circumstances. While there are general assumptions, such as that arrival probability has a Poisson distribution, that call duration is log-normal, and so forth, the specifics vary, so there is no reliable way to ascertain a universal ration between peak and average, etc. Please see http://www.diagnosticstrategies.com/...c_modeling.htm for more information about call arrival.

By “Traffic Engineering Table” I guess you mean Erlang Table. You can find Erlang B tables on the Web, or, if send me your email address and I will send you a PDF file. Erlang C calculations are a bit more complex, and I suggest that you use software such as EasyErlang (http://www.diagnosticstrategies.com/EasyErlang.htm) to figure Erlang C probabilities (the software also calculates Erlang B and other stuff…)
