legal hours of outbound calling?

Hello. I have a question regarding the legal hours in which a call center rep can place outgoing calls. This does not pertain to telemarketing calls, but that of verification calls. Can calls legally be placed to residences prior to 8am or after 9pm if the call center/agent position is not related to telemarketing? Where might I find this information? Thank you....

While I am not an attorney, it is my understanding that hour restrictions depends on the type of calls. For example, collection calls may have different limits than telemarketing or survey calls.

But from a consumer perspective, do you really think that you would get a good answer rate and response rate before 8 am and after 9 pm? As a consumer, I find the idea of calls to consumers prior to 8 am or after 9 pm as not feasible---how many people do you know that are awake and caffienated before 8 on a non-work day or not puttint the family to bed from 9 pm on?

Telemarketing State Regulations

1) http://www.callcompliance.com/cci/jsp/state.html
2) Select State – Alabama
3) You can then scroll through all the states.
4) Second to the last column is calling times.

Good luck.

verification calls before 8am, considered telemarketing?

hi. thank you for the responses. however, this would not pertain to a telemarketing scenerio. this is a call center for verification purposes. would this verification procedure still apply to telemarketing businesses? this verification dept does not sell goods or services, however, there is a telemarketing dept within the building/company that does that ... thanks for any input...
