Call Centre Tech - Comparisons required
Hello All,
How a hardware based Call Center Solution differs from a Server Based Solution? What are the Pros & Cons? Has anyone heard of CT server by Intel (CT MEdia, CT Connect) ? How good it is & is it capable to perform IP calls? Waiting for nice replies...THanks -Saira

Hi there,
The main difference between HW and SW solutions is of customizations. SW based are easily customizeable, they give you more control options as compared to HW based solutions. HW based are more cost effective then SW solutions. CT Media & CT Connect are the CT Server products by Intel used for Customize application development. Now they have upgarded them with Intel Netmerge & Intel NetStructure Platform. you can get more details from http://developer.intel.com They are quite good Sws, but they ar ebit costly 100 $ per port license. Yes they are capable for IP Calls, but youneed specific Intel HW for that like 301-IP Links Cards. I hope this will give you some idea. Regards Rizi |

Telco HW & SW
Hi there
HW based solutions in Pakistan mostly comes from PBX vendors like siemens, Alcatel. They are pure HW solutions, having a console set for their configuration/programming. Where as for SW, there is no all SW based solution. Infact there are hybrid solutions where you have telephony HW (Modem, Analog,Digital Interface Cards) and you write your application using the SDk provided with them. This includes many solutions like Telco HW providing: Intel/Dialoigc: http://www.intel.com/design/network/products/telecom/index.htm Brooktrout : http://www.brooktrout.com/ NMS : http://www.nmss.com and many more, Try searching telecom hardware using google. They all have their respective SDKs for programming ( High level as well as low Level). Unfortunately you have to make comparison on you own or try searching from this valuable resource http://www.cconvergence.com For what purpose are you making comparison, are you going to provide some solution or you are planning for making you own solution ?? I hope this will help you. Regards Rizi |
